This is the Retail guide for Prismatic Scales. It covers an older expansion’s crafting material, not Midnight’s new reagents.

Train Pandaria Skinning for this material. Retail uses a separate 1–75 Pandaria skill bar; the old combined 1–600 progression does not apply. Character levels depend on zone scaling and timeline selection, so the map and quest requirements in your current game determine access.

Where to farm Prismatic Scales

  • Pandaria

Kill and fully loot the skinnable beasts in the farming area, then skin each corpse. Move between packs so that earlier groups can respawn. Learn the matching expansion’s Skinning skill for better gathering results.

Use the western high shelf for leather or the eastern turtle area for leather and scales. For Prismatic Scale, use marker 2. Outlines mark approximate farming areas; clear the suitable targets inside them and repeat as they respawn. Markers identify areas, not guaranteed individual spawns.
