Farming Ancient Lichen — Retail

This is the Retail guide for Ancient Lichen. It covers an older expansion’s crafting material, not Midnight’s new reagents.

Train Outland Herbalism for this material. Retail uses a separate 1–75 Outland skill bar; the old combined 1–600 progression does not apply. Character levels depend on zone scaling and timeline selection, so the map and quest requirements in your current game determine access.

Enable Find Herbs and gather nodes while working around the zone. Detour toward visible nearby herbs, then return to the circuit. Change areas if another gatherer is repeatedly reaching the nodes first.

Swim down through the central reservoir pipe to reach the dungeon entrances. Gather Ancient Lichen inside the Slave Pens, Underbog or Steamvault. This marker shows access, not an outdoor herb node or an interior route. TBC requires Herbalism 340; instance reset limits apply. Markers identify approximate areas. Lines are suggested searches; they are not fixed spawn locations or a measured yield guarantee.
