Updated 21 October 2026

Learn Midnight Tailoring from Galana in Silvermoon City. This expansion has its own 1–100 skill bar; older expansion skill does not need to be leveled first.

A counted trainer route to about 60

This route budgets individual crafts and saves their intermediate outputs. Learn new recipes from Galana at each threshold. Counts for yellow or green recipes are estimates; stop at the target and add small batches if needed. Optional first crafts for Knowledge are extra.

Skill target Recipe Crafts Ingredients for one craft
15 Bright Linen Bolt 14 1 Bright Linen; 4 Silverleaf Thread
21 Courtly Slippers 3 2 Bright Linen Bolt; 3 Silverleaf Thread
25 Courtly Cloak 2 2 Bright Linen Bolt; 3 Silverleaf Thread
31 Courtly Helm 3 3 Bright Linen Bolt; 4 Silverleaf Thread; 3 Embroidery Floss
41 Courtly Robes 5 2 Bright Linen Bolt; 3 Silverleaf Thread
45, then 50 Courtly Shoulders 2, then about 5 2 Bright Linen Bolt; 3 Silverleaf Thread; 1 Embroidery Floss
60 Bright Linen Spellthread About 10 2 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt; 2 Eversinging Dust; 3 Embroidery Floss

Route reference: Wowhead trainer progression. Recipe records: basic bolt, imbued bolt, spellthread.

Shopping totals: choose bought bolts or self-made bolts

Both columns cover the trainer route above. Use one column, not both. The armor steps consume 43 basic bolts, but your first 14 crafts already provide 14 of them: only 29 additional basic bolts need buying. This avoids paying for the same intermediate twice.

Material Buy additional bolts Make every bolt yourself
Bright Linen 14 83
Bright Linen Bolt, bought 29 0
Imbued Bright Linen Bolt, bought 20 0
Silverleaf Thread, vendor 119 475
Embroidery Floss, vendor 46 46
Eversinging Dust 20 20

The self-made column includes 43 basic bolts for armor and another 40 turned into 20 imbued bolts. Each imbued bolt uses two basic bolts and four additional thread. Craft these intermediates after learning the recipe at 25; any skill gains they provide can reduce later armor crafts, so these totals are a budget ceiling for the listed counts, not a reason to keep crafting after reaching a target. Resourcefulness savings, optional first crafts and failed yellow skill-ups are not included.

After 60: gradual or faster progression

Gradual: spend 5 Knowledge in Nimble Needlework, choose a bolt branch, and use its cooldown alongside suitable patron orders. A Sunfire Silk Bolt craft takes 4 Mote of Light, 5 Sunfire Silk and 6 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt; the Arcanoweave version uses 4 Mote of Wild Magic and 5 Arcanoweave instead. Buy or make the imbued bolts, rather than buying both them and their raw inputs. The two bolt recipes have separate charges.

Faster: continue Bright Linen Spellthread toward 65, use Sunfire Silk Lining toward 90, then a rare profession-equipment recipe toward 100. Buy the lining pattern before its materials; its source is a Heavy Trunk in Delves and tradable patterns may be on the Auction House. The Cooking Hat pattern costs 150 Artisan Tailor’s Moxie from Deynna or Lyrendal. This route uses no Fused Vitality.

Stage Budgeted crafts Ingredients per craft Batch ingredients
60–65: Bright Linen Spellthread About 20 more 2 imbued bolts; 2 dust; 3 floss 40 imbued bolts; 40 dust; 60 floss
65–90: Sunfire Silk Lining About 28 6 Sunfire Silk; 2 Sunfire Silk Bolt; 1 floss 168 silk; 56 Sunfire bolts; 28 floss
90–100: Elegant Artisan’s Cooking Hat Budget 13; stop at 100 5 Mote of Light; 8 Sunfire Silk Bolt; 3 Radiant Shard; 2 floss 65 motes; 104 Sunfire bolts; 39 shards; 26 floss

Additional shopping budget for these three batches: 40 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt, 40 Eversinging Dust, 168 Sunfire Silk, 160 Sunfire Silk Bolt, 65 Mote of Light, 39 Radiant Shard and 114 Embroidery Floss. This buys finished intermediate bolts; their raw ingredients are not added again. Do not add the gradual cooldown route to this shopping basket. Yellow/green results may require more crafts, while multi-point crafts can let you stop sooner.

Example adjustment: each extra hat adds 5 motes, 8 Sunfire bolts, 3 shards and 2 floss. If you stop three hats early, subtract 15 motes, 24 bolts, 9 shards and 6 floss. Recipe quality, sale price and materials already owned can change which route costs less.

Later route estimates: WoW-Professions Tailoring. Checked recipe costs: Sunfire Silk Lining, Cooking Hat, Sunfire Silk Bolt. Checked 21 October 2026.
