Learn Midnight Fishing from Drathen in Silvermoon City. This expansion has its own 1–300 skill bar; older expansion skill does not need to be leveled first.

Leveling Fishing

Skill	What to do
1–150	Use Eversong Woods or Silvermoon open water; pools are another option.
150–225	Continue earlier waters or fish Zul'Aman.
225–300	Continue earlier waters or fish Harandar. Seek specific zones when targeting particular fish.

Choose a fish by location and catch condition

Choose a target before choosing a zone. A fishing pool, ordinary open water and an event-affected area can produce different catches at the same shoreline. The links below open the individual fish guides and their search maps.

Polluted Puffer	Coiled Isle: Willow Sea	Keep whole fish for Puffer Plate instead of processing your recipe stock.
Many-Eyed Flounder, Twin-Headed Snipefish, Loathsome Anglerfish	Coiled Isle: Vile Venom	Whispering Marsh around 67, 49 is a search starting point. The rarer accompanying fish are not guaranteed in every pool.
Oozing Goby, Giggling Skull, Grotesque Sturgeon	Coiled Isle: Cursed Oddity	Check the pool name; expect mixed catches. Goby also has an Abyssal Swirl source.
Sulfurous Sludgefish	Coiled Isle: Bubbling Beryl	Search the pool areas on the map below, then move to another matching pool when depleted.
Ula’tek Snakehead	Bubbling Beryl, or open water with Ula’tek Snakehead Lure	The lure recipe is a Renown 5 reward from Jan’sari the Watchful for Zul’jarra’s Forces. The outdoor map does not represent underground Vaults access.
Coiled Stargorger	Coiled Isle: Torrential Gorgerswarm	Convert an existing pool with a Coiled Stargorger Lure; verify its new name before casting.
Blightswarmer	Coiled Isle: waters affected by Cursed Land and Waters	Unlock Cursed Fishing through Captain Tokka’s quests, including Venom Fishing: Shell of Yourself. Complete a Curse Surge and fish within the temporary affected area.
Spotted Killifish	Open water near Tokka’s Folly, about 51.5, 53.7	Cast outside a pool when targeting this open-water catch.
Toxic Tlhapi and Dirty Darter	Coiled Isle open water and several named pool types	Save quest supplies before throwing fish back for their temporary bonuses.

No matching pool? Scout the next shoreline section. These are search areas, not fixed spawns. Wrong catches? Recheck the pool name, event unlock and whether the bobber landed inside it. No skill progress? Confirm you learned Midnight Fishing; the recommended zone bands above do not unlock fish by themselves.
