Keep the fish intact if a recipe or lure asks for it by name. Filleting turns it into Thalassian Fillet and consumes the original fish.

Zul’Aman — Inland fishing search route

Zul’Aman — Inland fishing search route base mapwow-farming.info · Retail · Midnight
Follow inland waterways around Atal’Aman and Maisara Deeps, scanning for the required pool type. This is a suggested search route drawn from the zone’s waterways, not guaranteed spawn positions. The fish guide’s named pool takes priority over the line; move around enemies or use flight between banks.

Harandar — Connected river fishing search route base mapwow-farming.info · Retail · Midnight
Search the central river network for the pool names listed above. The line is an original waterway search plan, not a fixed spawn route. Follow accessible banks, use flight between branches and inspect the pool before casting; not every Harandar pool yields every local fish.
