Retail · The War Within
Checked 21 October 2026
Thirteen Khaz Algar profession paths, with clear skill stops, recipe gates and alternatives for the expensive final points. These are Retail’s The War Within bars, not Midnight skills. Gathering and most crafts cap at 100; Fishing caps at 300.
Use the right skill bar and recipe rank
Choose this expansion in your profession window. Stop each stage when you reach its target skill; craft quantities are estimates whenever recipes turn yellow or green. Unlock the specified recipe rank before buying a full batch. Training, quest hand-ins, tools and discovery attempts can add materials beyond the listed crafting stages. Check your own recipe window for racial skill adjustments and current requirements.
Alchemy: 1–100
Train Khaz Algar Alchemy in Dornogal. Begin with Algari Healing Potions, then Neutralize Concoctions to recover Coreway Catalyst. Keep discoveries and first crafts in your plan rather than repeating a potion that is already grey.
Experiment with Mycobloom, Blessing Blossom and Orbinid or Luredrop to discover early potions. Wild Experimentation can fail and impose Recent Catastrophe. Formulated Courage, unlocked through Alchemical Mastery, removes that interruption while active.
Around 30–60, use daily Meticulous Experimentation for five-point gains while it remains orange. Continue discovering recipes between cooldowns. For 60–100, discovered flasks offer two-point gains until about 90, then become less reliable. Meticulous Experimentation can also finish the bar over time.
Price the flask you actually discovered. Each Flask of Tempered Mastery craft needs one Null Lotus, two Leyline Residue, 12 Blessing Blossom, 12 Arathor’s Spear and two Gilded Vials. Buy small final batches: the discovery path and yellow gains prevent a universal fixed shopping list.
Blacksmithing: 1–100
Train in Dornogal. Make and retain roughly 48 Core Alloy for 1–15. Use first crafts of the pickaxe, sickle, skinning knife and other alloys to 20, then the hammer, Developed Greatbelt and Plate Vambraces to 25.
25–40: progress through Developed Defender, Ironclaw Dirk and Stiletto; then toolbox, axe, sword, gauntlets, helm, legplates and pauldrons. Learn recipes as they appear at the trainer. Make Adjustable and Tempered Framework to about 42, then Great Mace and Ironclaw Knuckles to 50. Around 17 Forged Framework can reach 65.
For a patient 65–100 route, Everburning Forge unlocks Everburning Ignition. Each costs one Artisan’s Acuity, five Crystalline Powder and one Core Alloy. Charges recover every two hours, up to five; use stored Ignitions before reaching the item limit. Gains weaken after 90. This avoids needing repeated Spark gear orders.
Alternatively, Sanctified Alloy can cover 65–75 before suitable high-skill equipment recipes. Verify the recipe’s bound reagent and specialization requirements before accepting an order.
Enchanting: 1–100
Train in Dornogal; disenchanting Khaz Algar gear can supply early points and materials. A route without an early specialization commitment starts with Glimmering Haste to 10 and Glimmering Critical Strike to 15.
Make first crafts of Mirror Powder, Whisper of Armored Avoidance and Whisper of Silken Avoidance to 18, then three Runed Bismuth Rods to 27. Continue Glimmering Mastery to 35, Whisper of Armored Speed to 40 and four Enchanted Spearwood Wands to 52.
Use Glimmering Versatility to 56, Whisper of Silken Speed to 60, then approximately 13 Whisper of Armored Leech to 70. First-craft Council’s Guile, Oathsworn’s Tenacity, Stonebound Artistry and Stormrider’s Fury; repeat a suitable weapon enchant to reach 80.
Buy the Chant of Burrowing Rapidity formula if competitively priced. About six crafts reach 91, using six Vials of Kaheti Oils, 240 Storm Dust and 30 Gleaming Shards. Continue toward 100, allowing extra green attempts, or finish with three orange Authority enchants after obtaining their specific formulas. Formula cost belongs in the comparison.
Engineering: 1–100
Learn Khaz Algar Engineering in Dornogal. Scour Through Scrap for early points, keeping at least 30 Piles of Rusted Scrap. Pilfer Through Parts unlocks at 5 and can turn older engineering parts into scrap; compare their prices.
15–20: make ten Whimsical Wiring, ten Gyrating Gear and 45 Bismuth Bolts. Keep them. 20–25: one Samophlange and four Safety Switches. First-craft four UT0-41M3R goggles variants to about 33, then Samophlanges or newly discovered first crafts to 40. Buy supplier components rather than paying auction-house markups blindly.
Invent has a daily cooldown and provides a prototype. Use the prototype to learn its recipe. Scrap processing can also yield prototypes. After learning the prototype set, combine 15 notes into Organized Ideas to choose another discovery.
40–100: daily Invent plus first crafts minimizes repeated material spending. A faster route uses discovered Jumper Cables toward 92, then Invent for the final points. Each cable craft consumes ten scrap, two bolts, two wiring, one gear and one switch; variable gains make bulk buying risky.
Inscription: 1–100
Train in Dornogal and mill Khaz Algar herbs to 20. Make Apricate Ink, Shadow Ink and Boundless Cipher toward 40, keeping the products. Boundless Cipher requires Arathor’s Spear as well as ink.
Pursuit of Knowledge unlocks Algari Treatise on Inscription. Use Fireflash and Harmonious missives to about 42, three treatises to 45, then Peerless and Quickblade missives to 47. Three more treatises reach about 50; first-craft Vantus Rune: Nerub-ar Palace for the next point.
Treatises can finish 51–100, with roughly 60 crafts as an estimate; they become green at 90. Each uses two Leyline Residue, one Boundless Cipher and two Apricate Ink, plus any supplier requirement shown in the recipe. Crafting can discover treatises for other professions.
Treatises are Warbound under the current rules, making them useful for eligible alts, but each profession can consume only one per week. Diversify into learned profession variants instead of accumulating more copies than you can use or sell.
Jewelcrafting: 1–100
Train in Dornogal. Prospect roughly 145 Bismuth to reach 15; keep the gems. Make two Engraved Gemcutters and first-craft four amber cuts toward 20, then Marbled Stone and Radiant Loupes to 22.
Two Gilded Vial crafts reach about 26, followed by three Decorative Lenses to 31. Make Malleable Band and Pendant to 35; use Storyteller’s Glasses, Incanter’s Shard and Right-Handed Magnifying Glass to 41. Around 17 more magnifying glasses reach 55.
For 55–100, learn a Blasphemite gem formula such as Culminating, Elusive or Insightful Blasphemite. Check auction-house formula prices. These recipes award three points while orange; 15 crafts cover 45 points, requiring 15 Blasphemite, 360 Crushed Gemstones and 15 Engraved Gemcutters.
Cubic Blasphemia is a different recipe and does not provide this path to 100. Ordinary specialization gems stop helping near 80. The daily Algari Amber Prism, learned at 50, can provide cheaper intermediate gains before you commit to the final gem batch.
Leatherworking: 1–100
Train in Dornogal. First-craft Spelunker’s Leather Bands and Tracker’s Chitin Cuffs to 7, then Hideseeker’s Hat, leather footpads and chitin galoshes to 16. Continue the leather jerkin, chitin hauberk and Hideseeker’s Pack to 25.
Use Practiced Sash, Toughened Girdle and Practiced Mitts to 35; Gemcutter’s Apron, Apothecary’s Cap and Steelsmith’s Apron to 44. Make Toughened Shoulderguards before Practiced Shoulders to 50. Links and Britches reach 56, then Practiced Hat and Toughened Headgear reach 62.
Repeat the cheaper headpiece to 70. Eleven hats use 330 Stormcharged Leather and 11 Thunderous Hide; the chitin alternative uses 330 Gloom Chitin and 11 Sunless Carapace.
70–100: buy Stormbound Armor Kit from Auditor Balwurz for 150 Artisan’s Acuity. Each craft needs one Gloomfathom Hide, two Crystalfused Hide and 60 Stormcharged Leather. Defender’s Armor Kit from Lyrendal is an alternative, with different reagents. Buy final materials in batches because gains become green; eligible three-point gear orders can replace late repeats.
Tailoring: 1–100
Train in Dornogal. Unravel about 200 Weavercloth to 10, make roughly 51 Weavercloth Bolts to 25 and four Exquisite Weavercloth Bolts to 29. Keep intermediate products.
First-craft the profession robe, chef’s hat and tailor’s coat to 35. Make Perfected Hood to 37, gloves to 39 and three mantles to 45. Gritty and Bright Polishing Cloth take you toward 48; about 30 Embroidery Threads reach 65, using 30 Writhing Sample and 30 Weavercloth Bolt plus supplier thread.
For 65–100, invest 20 points in From Dawn Until Dusk to unlock Duskweave Bag. Each bag requires four Duskweave Bolts and 30 Spools of Duskthread. The recipe turns yellow at 80 and green at 90, so the final material requirement varies.
Dawnweave Reagent Bag is another specialization option; check the unlock and relative bolt prices before spending points. Orders for eligible high-skill gear can replace late green bag attempts, but require that character to know the recipe and the customer to supply any required bound reagent.
Herbalism: 1–100
Train with Akdan in Dornogal. Gather Khaz Algar herbs; your expansion skill bars are separate. Ordinary Mycobloom stops providing useful gains around 30, while the other ordinary herbs cover roughly 1–60.
60–80: prioritize empowered herbs and camouflaged nodes. Phial of Truesight reveals camouflaged nodes. For 80–100, focus on empowered Orbinid, Arathor’s Spear, Luredrop and Blessing Blossom; empowered Mycobloom is already green. Lush variants can also provide gains.
Learning Botany at skill 25 improves Vigor recovery while gathering. Irradiated herbs can explode and knock you back; Sporefused plants produce moving hazards. Altered herbs apply Horrific Poison, slowing you for a minute. Crystallized protection helps when handling that effect.
Start on a circuit you can fly consistently, then adjust when nodes go grey. Count both useful herbs per circuit and time spent fighting or recovering; a dense-looking route may lose to a safer one. Keep herbs required by your planned Alchemy discoveries or Inscription inks.
Mining: 1–100
Train Khaz Algar Mining in Dornogal. Bismuth provides early gains but stops around 40. Ordinary Ironclaw and Aqirite can carry you toward 70.
70–90: seek empowered, camouflaged or rich Ironclaw and Aqirite. For 90–100, prioritize empowered and camouflaged Ironclaw/Aqirite. Phial of Truesight reveals the hidden nodes. Ordinary grey deposits remain useful for ore, but cannot finish your skill bar.
Learning Mining Fundamentals at skill 25 improves Vigor recovery during mining. Choose a broad Isle of Dorn circuit or Ringing Deeps loop before attempting more vertical Hallowfall or Azj-Kahet terrain.
Crystallized deposits provide protection against Weeping-node effects. Webbed nodes can yield Weavercloth; Weeping nodes supply Writhing Samples but inflict poison. Explosive deposits require room to move away from bombs. Check the node type before activating an overload, and collect the original ore first when the overload replaces the deposit with an encounter.
Skinning: 1–100
Train in Dornogal, then skin Khaz Algar beasts to raise the 1–100 bar. Unlike gathering routes that must switch to rare node variants, this plan can stay on a reliable beast camp.
Vigilant Nestguards around Pillar-nest North in Azj-Kahet offer a practical leather camp. Hallowfall beasts provide alternatives, but calves do not provide the same leather yield as adult targets. Test a small group before committing to a circuit.
Learning Tanning at skill 25 unlocks Sharpen Your Knife, which guarantees a rare hide or carapace from the next eligible skin and has a one-hour cooldown. Use it deliberately before a useful target rather than leaving it unused.
Specialization access expands at skill 25, 50 and 75. Choose investments around the material you want to farm. Measure leather or chitin per minute together with kill time, corpse-looting delays and competition; a crowded quest camp is not automatically the best skinning location.
Cooking: 1–100
Train with Athodas in Dornogal’s Stonelight Rest, on the lower floor. Buy supplier ingredients from Kronzon. Prepare Portioned Steak and Spiced Meat Stock for early points, then use Unseasoned Field Steak toward 35; it turns green at 30, so the final attempts vary.
35–45: five Meat and Potatoes, consuming 40 Portioned Steak. 45–55: five Stuffed Cave Peppers, using 100 Portioned Steak. 55–85: 15 Beledar’s Bounty, using 225 Portioned Steak. Add each recipe’s supplier ingredients.
Beledar’s Bounty requires the Mereldar quest chain beginning with Auralia’s Economical Request. After Underground Economics, a later-day follow-up leads through Spice Up Your Life, Eagle Eye, Eagle Die, Full Dress, Cooking With Style and A Home Cooked Meal. Unlock it before purchasing the entire batch.
85–100: five Everything Stew use 75 each Portioned Steak, Spiced Meat Stock, Chopped Mycobloom and Fresh Fillet. Waxmonger Squick in the Ringing Deeps sells its recipe for 1,000 Resonance Crystals. These are prepared inputs; include their raw ingredients when shopping.
Fishing: 1–300
Train with Drokar in Dornogal. The Khaz Algar Fishing cap is 300. Fish in Khaz Algar to improve this bar; gains come from catches and are not guaranteed every cast.
Use pools at low skill to obtain useful fish while leveling. Open water can produce substantial junk before your skill and equipment improve. Isle of Dorn and Hallowfall let you combine fishing with straightforward travel; choose fish needed by your Cooking plan.
Glimmerpools can contain Bismuth Bitterling, Crystalline Sturgeon and Specular Rainbowfish. Calm Surfacing Ripples provide Dornish Pike and Quiet River Bass. In Hallowfall, Royal Ripples are the target for Queen’s Lurefish and Regal Dottyback. Azj-Kahet’s Infused Ichor Spills provide Pale Huskfish and Goldengill Trout.
Move between known pool locations rather than waiting beside one exhausted pool. Record the number of useful fish, not just casts, when comparing routes. Keep special fish effects and bait separate from ordinary Cooking ingredients so you do not accidentally consume an item you intended to use for fishing.
Before repeating on another character
Check which recipes and currencies that character actually owns, then price the remaining inputs. A cheap reagent route can be slower overall if its recipe requires a reputation grind or a rotating quest. Keep intermediate products until the next stage is finished.
