Shadowlands professions have different caps: Cooking 75, most crafts 100, Enchanting 115, gathering 150, Alchemy 175 and Fishing 200. Select your profession for its own route and stopping point.
Use the right skill bar and recipe rank
Choose this expansion in your profession window. Stop each stage when you reach its target skill; craft quantities are estimates whenever recipes turn yellow or green. Unlock the specified recipe rank before buying a full batch. Training, quest hand-ins, tools and discovery attempts can add materials beyond the listed crafting stages. Check your own recipe window for racial skill adjustments and current requirements.
Alchemy: 1–175
Train with Elixirist Au’pyr in Oribos, Hall of Shapes (39.6,40.2). Buy Rune Etched Vials and Distilled Death Extract from suppliers.
1–20: eight each Spiritual Healing, Mana and Rejuvenation Potions, retaining the first two for the third. 20–30: Ground Death Blossom. 30–45: 15 Potions of the Hidden Spirit. 45–55: ten Ground Marrowroot. 55–60: five Potions of Soul Purity. 60–80: about 28 Potions of Specter Swiftness.
80–97: approximately 22 Ground Vigil’s Torch. 97–100: three Potions of the Psychopomp’s Speed. 100–110: ten Potions of Hardened Shadows. 110–120: about 14 Ground Widowbloom; 120–125: seven Potions of Sacrificial Anima. 125–157: around 38 Crafter’s Mark I (190 Death Blossom, 38 vials, 114 extract).
157–170: approximately 17 Spectral Strength Potions (85 Rising Glory). Finish 170–175 with Alchemy world quests, or five Crafter’s Mark II if unlocked. Mark II requires Cordial with Ve’nari and costs 300 Stygia; its final five crafts use 75 Death Blossom, 25 vials and 25 extract.
Blacksmithing: 1–100
Train with Smith Au’berk in Oribos (40.4,31.6). Distributor Au’til supplies Luminous Flux and a hammer.
Follow these skill stops with Ceremonious items: Sabatons to 5, Waistguards to 10, Rapiers to 16, Laestrite Skeleton Keys to 18, Shield to 20, Maces to 26, Axes to 30, Greaves to 36, Pauldrons to 40 and Blades to 45. Then five Crafter’s Mark I should reach 50.
50–60: make Shadowghast Ingots; each craft produces two. Keep them. 60–70: five Shadowsteel Waistguards. 70–80: about ten Shadowsteel Gauntlets. 80–92: four Shadowsteel Breastplates. 92–100: three Shadowsteel Greaves.
The final armor stages consume 189 ingots, so the initial batch of roughly 40 ingots is insufficient. Make additional ingots as needed, checking the two-per-craft yield. Initial shopping estimate: about 360 Laestrite, 30 Elethium, 100 each Solenium/Oxxein/Phaedrum/Sinvyr and 580 flux. Yellow gains or different early counts change totals.
Enchanting: 1–115
Train with Imbuer Au’vresh in Oribos (48.4,25.9). Bring a Runed Copper Rod and buy vellum from Distributor Au’resh.
Disenchant Shadowlands gear for early points; if starting empty, use Shadowlands Gathering to 10. Continue with Illuminated Soul to 21, five Celestial Guidance to 31, Sacred Stats to 41, Bargain of Critical Strike to 45, Bargain of Haste to 50 and Bargain of Mastery to 55.
55–70: around 20 Soul Vitality. 70–75: five Eternal Bulwark. 75–80: five Eternal Agility. 80–95: about 18 Tenet of Critical Strike. 95–100: five Eternal Skirmish. 100–110: five Eternal Grace. 110–115: roughly eight Eternal Bounds.
Keep raw materials for the final crystal enchants. World quests can substitute for expensive final points if you prefer waiting. The cap is 115; stopping at 100 leaves this profession unfinished. Craft to each skill target, adjusting for any early disenchanting gains.
Engineering: 1–100
Train with Machinist Au’gur in Oribos (38.1,44.7). Use the Hall of Shapes forge’s anvils and bring the required engineering tools. Buy oils and flux from Distributor Au’burk.
1–25: make Porous Polishing Abrasive and Handfuls of Laestrite Bolts. Keep both. 25–35: ten Mortal Coiled Springs. 35–41: three Precision Lifeforce Inverters. 41–46: five more Springs. 46–50: Wormfed Gear Assemblies.
50–55: five Disposable Spectrophasic Reanimators. Ensure you have five Assemblies before starting; crafting only four in the preceding stage leaves a shortage. 55–76: make more Assemblies. 76–91: about 15 Optical Target Embiggeners, consuming 15 Assemblies, 75 Handfuls, 15 Angerseye and 15 Oriblase.
91–97: two Flexible Ectoplasmic Specs require six Assemblies, ten Handfuls, four Umbryl and 20 Shrouded Cloth. For 97–100, use Engineering world quests or continue green goggles. Replenish intermediate parts from the recipe window; fixed introductory batches do not cover every later craft.
Inscription: 1–100
Train with Scribe Au’tehshi in Oribos’s Hall of Shapes. Distributor Au’sha supplies the inking set, water, parchment and vials.
1–25: mill only enough herbs to make Luminous and Umbral Ink to 25. Manual milling itself gives no skill. 25–30: around ten Writs of Grave Robbing, using ten of each ink.
30–60: use Mass Milling on Shadowlands herbs; unlike manual milling, this awards skill. Around 700 herbs is a starting estimate. 60–75: convert Tranquil Pigment into ink; mill Nightshade if you need more, targeting roughly 25 pigment.
75–86: make different Missives to balance your Luminous/Umbral supply. 86–100: begin with ten Darkmoon Cards of Death (70 of each common ink, ten Tranquil Ink and ten Dark Parchment). Use any resulting blank cards with Tranquil Ink for extra points, then craft more cards only if needed. Random blank-card results prevent a universal exact shopping list.
Jewelcrafting: 1–100
Train with Appraiser Au’vesk in Oribos (35.2,41.8). Distributor Au’kharn sells settings, wire and the Jeweler’s Kit.
1–20: prospect about 150–200 ores, reserving 200 Laestrite. 20–30: ten Mass Prospect Laestrite casts use that reserve. 30–35: mass prospect roughly 100 of a zone ore such as Oxxein. Save 10–20 of each zone ore for jewelry; do not prospect everything.
35–40: make six Versatile Jewel Doublets (12 Umbryl) and four Quick Jewel Doublets (eight Oriblase). 40–50: use them in three Versatile and two Quick Laestrite Chokers, plus ten Laestrite and vendor reagents.
50–74: make Jewel Clusters in pairs, progressing from Deadly/Quick to Masterful and other unlocked cuts. 74–100: approximately 13 matching rings or necklaces consume two Clusters and two zone ores each. Deadly uses Sinvyr, Quick Oxxein, Masterful Phaedrum and Versatile Solenium; learn recipes as skill unlocks them. Adapt to the gems actually prospected.
Leatherworking: 1–100
Train with Tanner Au’qil in Oribos (42.6,26.8). Distributor Au’tem supplies Curing Salt and Penumbra Thread.
1–11: five Desolate Leather Treads. 11–21: five Gauntlets. 21–36: five Helms. 36–51: five Pauldrons. 51–60: about 15 Crafter’s Mark I. 60–70: five Shadebound Waistguards.
70–85: make 24 Heavy Desolate Leather from 240 Desolate Leather. 85–89: four Heavy Callous Hide from 40 Callous Hide. Keep all of these intermediates.
89–92: one Shadowscale Vest. 92–100: three Shadowscale leg pieces, shown as Greaves by the trainer and potentially Leggings in the crafting list. Together these final pieces use four Heavy Callous Hide, 24 Heavy Desolate Leather and 28 Pallid Bone.
Starting total: around 655 Desolate Leather, 45 Callous Hide, 28 Pallid Bone, 45 Curing Salt and 72 thread, with extra for missed gains. Do not count the heavy materials twice if you craft them from this raw-material budget.
Tailoring: 1–100
Train with Stitcher Au’phes in Oribos (45.2,31.6). Buy Penumbra Thread from Distributor Au’tem.
1–15: approximately 17 Shrouded Cloth Bandages. 15–31: eight Shrouded Cloth Capes. 31–37: two Hoods. 37–52: five Spaulders. 52–65: about 20 Heavy Shrouded Cloth Bandages.
65–71: three Shadowlace Cords. 71–75: four Handwraps. 75–87: four Cowls. 87–90: one Tunic. 90–96: two Trousers. 96–100: two Mantles.
Budget about 500 Shrouded Cloth, 76 Lightless Silk and 167 Penumbra Thread. The selected craft quantities total 491 cloth before missed skill gains, so 500 is a starting buffer, not a guarantee. Save Lightless Silk for the Shadowlace stages rather than buying it for early bandages.
Herbalism: 1–150
Train with Selector Au’mar in Oribos (39.8,38.6). Gather Shadowlands herbs through 150; you do not need to switch zones at fixed skill milestones.
Bastion provides Rising Glory, while other zones offer different crafting inputs. Choose the zone that supplies your intended potion or ink route. Death Blossom is a general ingredient, and Nightshade is valuable for Tranquil Pigment.
The Shadowlands Gathering glove enchant speeds gathering. Druids can gather herbs in travel form, and Sky Golem supports mounted herbalism; ordinary mount equipment does not benefit Sky Golem. Avoid cliff shortcuts without a safe landing. Confirm that the Shadowlands skill bar, not a different expansion, is increasing.
Mining: 1–150
Train with Excavationist Au’fer in Oribos (39.6,33.2). Mine Shadowlands ores to 150; any of the expansion’s zones can support the full progression.
Bastion is a straightforward starting choice. For Shadowghast Ingots, gather all four zone ores rather than staying indefinitely in one zone: Solenium, Oxxein, Phaedrum and Sinvyr are all needed in the recipe.
The Shadowlands Gathering enchant shortens mining casts. Plan a circuit with safe terrain and widen it if respawns fall behind. Save unprospected ore for crafting before converting your entire stock into gems.
Skinning: 1–150
Train with Flayer Au’khem in Oribos (42.6,27.6). Level 1–150 on Shadowlands beasts, looting each corpse before skinning.
In Bastion, try Languishing and Starved Etherwyrms. Maldraxxus alternatives include Neonate Bonetooths, Bloodskin Tauraluses and Furious Alphahoofs, or a circuit of Virulent Pests.
Use the Shadowlands Gathering glove enchant to shorten casts. Pull only what you can kill safely; extra deaths erase the time saved by larger packs. Keep Callous Hide and Desolate Leather for their heavy-material conversions, plus Pallid Bone for the final Leatherworking armor stages.
Cooking: 1–75
Train with Chef Au’krut in Oribos (46.6,25.8). Distributor Au’van sells spices, vinegar, produce, milk and flour; these vendor ingredients are additional to the fish/meat counts below.
1–22: about 21 Pickled Meat Smoothies (21 Aethereal Meat). 22–36: 14 Meaty Apple Dumplings (42 Shadowy Shank). 36–51: 15 Banana Beef Puddings (45 Aethereal Meat, 45 Phantasmal Haunch).
51–61: ten Steak a la Mode (30 Shadowy Shank, 30 Raw Seraphic Wing). 61–66: five Iridescent Ravioli with Apple Sauce (15 Iridescent Amberjack, 15 Lost Sole). 66–75: nine Seraph Tenders (36 Raw Seraphic Wing, 18 Lost Sole, 18 Silvergill Pike).
These recipe stages total 66 Aethereal Meat, 72 Shadowy Shank, 45 Phantasmal Haunch, 66 wings, 15 amberjack, 33 sole and 18 pike before a buffer. The profession cap is 75.
Fishing: 1–200
Train with Retriever Au’prin in Oribos (46.6,25.8), then fish in Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald or Revendreth until the Shadowlands bar reaches 200.
Bastion supplies Silvergill Pike, Maldraxxus Pocked Bonefish, Ardenweald Iridescent Amberjack and Revendreth Spinefin Piranha. Lost Sole occurs throughout these zones; Elysian Thade is a rarer catch.
For the Cooking route above, spend time in Bastion and Ardenweald to collect pike, amberjack and sole. Catch counts vary, so inspect your skill progress rather than expecting every cast to award a point. The Shadowlands Fishing training spell confirms the 200 cap; a navigation label saying 100 is not the correct target.
Before repeating on another character
Check which recipes and currencies that character actually owns, then price the remaining inputs. A cheap reagent route can be slower overall if its recipe requires a reputation grind or a rotating quest. Keep intermediate products until the next stage is finished.
