Dragon Isles professions each have a 100-point base skill bar. The routes below include practical specialization choices and late-stage crafting requirements. Recipe difficulty and equipment bonuses can exceed 100 without raising that base cap.
Use the right skill bar and recipe rank
Choose this expansion in your profession window. Stop each stage when you reach its target skill; craft quantities are estimates whenever recipes turn yellow or green. Unlock the specified recipe rank before buying a full batch. Training, quest hand-ins, tools and discovery attempts can add materials beyond the listed crafting stages. Check your own recipe window for racial skill adjustments and current requirements.
Alchemy: 1–100
Train with Conflago in Valdrakken and use the nearby Alchemist’s Lab Bench. Buy Draconic Vials from Gohfyrr.
1–7: two Refreshing Healing Potion crafts. 7–11: two Aerated Mana Potion crafts. Reclaim their outputs for 11–15. Craft Transmute: Awakened Air once, then about 15 Omnium Draconis to 25.
Craft Primal Convergent once, then around 15 Phials of Tepid Versatility to 35 and 18 Writhefire Oil to 45. Make one Basic Phial Experimentation and one Basic Potion Experimentation, then experiment to 50. Each experiment uses five Artisan’s Mettle, two Dragon’s Alchemical Solution and one Omnium Draconis.
50–56: two Elemental Potion of Power crafts. Continue those or experiments to 65; use experiments through 100, with slower green gains at 90–100. Reclaim inexpensive potions for Solution. Failed experiments can impose a four-hour lockout; Liquid Courage removes it if available. Do not budget a guaranteed number of discoveries or uninterrupted crafts.
Blacksmithing: 1–100
Train with Metalshaper Kuroko in Valdrakken. For 1–26, first-craft the unlocked Explorer’s bracers/chest and Draconium tools: hammer, pickaxe, sickle, skinning knife, toolbox, leatherworker’s knife and Defender. Equip useful profession tools.
26–37: Draconium Axe, Leatherworker’s Toolset, Needle Set and Explorer’s Expert Clasp. 37–41: two Expert Greaves. 41–45: Great Axe and Expert Gauntlets. 45–51: Stiletto and two Expert Spaulders. Then Great Mace and roughly 25 Expert Helms to 65.
Reserve 20 knowledge: ten Armorsmithing, unlock Fine-Armor and invest ten, then unlock Vambraces for Primal Molten Vambraces. Craft that recipe through 100 using eligible Sparks, including personal orders from characters supplying their own bound Spark. Each craft consumes 14 Primal Molten Alloy; at three skill points per orange craft, 65–100 needs 12 crafts if gains remain unchanged.
Use the shared Spark instructions below. Confirm the visible skill gain and required Spark before buying all alloys; do not confuse recipe skill bonuses with increases to the base 100-point bar.
Enchanting: 1–100
Train with Soragosa in Valdrakken. Make and equip a Runed Serevite Rod. Disenchant Dragonflight gear for early points. Use Writ ring enchants to 15, Runed Draconium Rod and Writ bracer enchants to 25, Writ cloak enchants to 31, Devotion ring enchants to 40 and Illusory Adornments to 50. First-craft different variants while useful.
50–65: unlock Devotion of Avoidance with ten Enchantment, ten Material Manipulation, then Adaptive; budget about 33 crafts. Alternatively, Dragonscale Renown 9 unlocks Graceful Avoidance from Cataloger Jakes.
65–76: Rider’s Reassurance from Jakes at that same renown is one option. Without renown, start the final wand route earlier.
For 76–100, invest ten in Rods, Runes, and Ruses, then 30 in Rods and Wands to learn Torch of Primal Awakening. Eight orange crafts at three points each finish from 76, requiring eight eligible Sparks, 16 Vibrant Shards, 24 Resonant Crystals, 16 Primal Molten Alloy and 16 Runed Writhebark. Personal crafting orders can supply customer-bound Sparks.
Engineering: 1–100
Train with Clinkyclick Shatterboom in Valdrakken. Make Handfuls of Serevite Bolts to 15 and Shock-Spring Coils to 21. Keep parts and replenish them as later recipes consume them.
21–33: first-craft Bottomless Stonecrust Ore Satchel, Draconium Delver’s Helmet, Encased Samophlange, Lapidary’s Clamps, Brainwave Amplifier and Spring-Loaded Fabric Cutters. 33–41: four more Satchels. 41–45: about five Tinker Removal Kits.
Invest five knowledge in Function Over Form and unlock Gear. Craft P.E.W. x2 to discover Overengineered Sleeve Extenders or Needlessly Complex Wristguards; discovery count is random. From around 50–65, use Overcharged Overclocker, budgeting about 35 crafts.
65–100: craft a discovered bracer recipe, or eligible goggles, using Sparks and personal orders as needed. Twelve orange three-point crafts cover 35 points. For 12 Sleeve Extenders, reserve 48 Vibrant Wildercloth Bolts, 24 Greased-Up Gears, 24 Arclight Capacitors and 12 Reinforced Machine Chassis, plus Sparks. Check the actual recipe before buying: other bracer types use different materials.
Inscription: 1–100
Train with Talendara in Valdrakken. Mill herbs to 15, reserving 35 un-milled Writhebark. Craft Blazing, Flourishing and Serene Ink plus a Chilled Rune to around 20. Runed Writhebark and Burnished Ink take the next stage to 32.
32–39: first-craft Alchemist’s Sturdy Mixing Rod, Chef’s Smooth Rolling Pin, Scribe’s Fastened Quill, then Buzzing, Howling and Chirping Runes. 39–45: three Cosmic Ink crafts. 45–51: craft each of the six Draconic Missives; continue Fireflash to 60.
60–85: use Vantus Rune: Vault of the Incarnates. This has a long green stretch, so buy inputs in batches and stop at the target.
85–100: invest ten Runebinding and ten Runic Scripture, then unlock Codexes. Five Crackling Codex of the Isles crafts use five eligible Sparks, 25 Awakened Air, 100 Glittering Parchment, 50 Cosmic Ink, 20 Chilled Rune and 25 Runed Writhebark. Use the shared Spark/order instructions below. Early crafted Cosmic Ink can reduce what you still need to buy.
Jewelcrafting: 1–100
Train with Tuluradormi in Valdrakken. Prospect 25 Serevite Ore to about 6. First-craft Glossy Stone, Shimmering Clasp and Crushing, then Solid Eternity Amber to 12. Cut the unlocked uncommon gems and craft Band of New Beginnings/Pendant of Impending Perils to 20.
20–29: first-craft Bold-Print Bifocals, Sundered Onyx Loupe, Draconic Vial, Timewatcher’s Patience and Revitalizing Red Carving. Enterprising unlocks Blotting Sand: use it to 55, budgeting around 60 crafts. Alternatively use Jagged Nozdorite once learned.
55–75: first-craft each Nozdorite variant, then continue Jagged Nozdorite, roughly 25 more crafts. Price Awakened Fire and Nozdorite together.
75–100: invest ten Setting and ten Jewelry, then unlock Rings for Signet of Titanic Insight. Nine orange three-point crafts cover 25 skill points. Supply eligible Sparks or fulfill personal orders carrying the customer’s Spark. Learn the recipe and inspect its full material list before buying rare gems; knowledge and bound reagents are prerequisites, not optional quality extras.
Leatherworking: 1–100
Train with Hideshaper Koruz in Valdrakken. For 1–25, first-craft both leather and mail wrist/boot/chest pieces, Durable Pack, Pioneer’s Practiced Belt and Trailblazer’s Toughened Chainbelt.
25–41: Practiced Gloves, Toughened Grips, Jeweler’s Cover, Protective Gloves, Alchemist’s Hat and Smithing Apron. 41–52: leather/mail shoulder and leg pieces. 52–65: about 25 Pioneer’s Practiced Cowls, consuming 400 Resilient Leather and 50 Dense Hide.
For the leather finish, invest ten Leather Armor Crafting and ten Shaped-Leather Armor, then unlock Wristwraps for Life-Bound Bindings. The mail alternative is ten Mail Armor Crafting, ten Large Mail, then Bracers for Flame-Touched Cuffs.
65–100: craft your unlocked wrist recipe with eligible Sparks, using personal orders to access customer-bound reagents. Twelve orange three-point crafts cover the remaining 35 points. Verify materials and skill gains before ordering batches. Pick the specialization that supports your intended future crafts; the leveling route should not dictate an unwanted long-term build.
Tailoring: 1–100
Train with Threadfinder Fulafong in Valdrakken. Unravel about 150 Tattered Wildercloth to 15. First-craft Surveyor’s Cloth Robe, Gardening Hat, Chef’s Hat and Tailored Cloak to 27, then Fishing Cap to 30.
30–40: Seasoned Cord, Alchemist’s Robe, Seasoned Gloves and Enchanter’s Hat. 40–46: Seasoned Shoulders. 46–54: Abrasive Polishing Cloth, Seasoned Pants/Hood, Vibrant Wildercloth Bolt and Vibrant Spellthread. Continue Seasoned Hoods to 65; about 25 consume 250 Wildercloth and 175 Wilderthread.
65–100: if already Dragonscale Expedition Renown 15, buy Master’s Wildercloth Fishing Cap from Cataloger Jakes; expect roughly 50–60 crafts with green final gains.
Otherwise invest five Garmentcrafting and ten Embellishments, then unlock Armbands for Vibrant Wildercloth Wristwraps. Craft with eligible Sparks or fulfill personal orders through 100. Each Wristwrap consumes eight Vibrant Wildercloth Bolts and six Wilderthread, plus its Spark. Twelve three-point crafts cover 65–100 while orange.
Herbalism: 1–100
Train with Agrikus in Valdrakken. Gather herbs across the Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains or Azure Span. Normal herbs stop providing useful skill early; around 60–100, prioritize modified nodes.
Lush nodes provide extra herbs. Frigid, Windswept, Decayed and Titan-Touched nodes also supply their associated elemental reagents. They replace ordinary spawns, so a circuit through many nodes is more useful than waiting at one supposed rare-herb location.
Windswept herbs can knock you back after gathering. Check cliffs and plan a safe landing before harvesting. Choose a first specialization at skill 25 only after reading its benefits; base skill and knowledge are separate progression systems. Gathering a grey ordinary herb can still earn materials, but will not complete the remaining skill bar.
Mining: 1–100
Train with Sekita the Burrower in Valdrakken. Mine across the Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains or Azure Span for early levels.
Around 60–100, look for Rich, Hardened, Molten, Primal and Titan-Touched deposits as ordinary nodes stop granting points. Hardened provides Rousing Earth, Molten Fire, Titan-Touched Order and Primal mixed elemental reagents; Rich gives additional ore.
Modified nodes replace normal spawns rather than following a separate guaranteed route. Keep moving through a wide circuit, inspecting caves and cliffs without entering dangerous elite areas just for one deposit. The first specialization opens at 25; choose according to the material or gathering benefit you want. Base skill gains and specialization knowledge should be tracked separately.
Skinning: 1–100
Train with Ralathor the Rugged in Valdrakken. Skin Dragon Isles beasts through 100; this profession does not need the rare-node transition used by Mining and Herbalism.
Ohn’ahran Plains offers Ravenous Rockfang, Grazing Bruffalon, Bruffalon Bulls and Suntuft Bakar. Azure Span alternatives include Wildwater Ottuk and Wild Crystalspine. The Waking Shores has Primal Proto-Drakes.
Choose a dense camp you can kill and loot efficiently. Other players’ quest kills help only once the corpses are fully looted and eligible to skin. Select a specialization at 25 according to your future goals rather than spending knowledge merely because it is available. Keep Resilient Leather, Adamant Scales and rarer hides for the matching Leatherworking route.
Cooking: 1–100
Train with Erugosa in Valdrakken. 1–5: four Twice-Baked Potatoes. 5–23: make Assorted Exotic Spices and Pebbled Rock Salts, around ten crafts each, retaining the outputs.
23–40: about 27 Hopefully Healthy (81 Maybe Meat, 108 Conveniently Packaged Ingredients). 40–50: around 13 Delicious Dragon Spittle (13 Artisanal Berry Juice, 13 Ribbed Mollusk Meat).
50–75: acquire a fish-dish recipe such as Timely Demise. Recipes can come from Draconic Recipe in a Bottle, the auction house, or Encroaching Heat at Iskaara Renown 11. About 28 Timely Demise crafts use 56 Temporal Dragonhead, 56 Pebbled Rock Salts and 56 Ribbed Mollusk Meat.
75–100: craft a discovered advanced dish. For example, around 40 Feisty Fish Sticks require 40 Temporal Dragonhead, 40 Thousandbite Piranha, 120 Pebbled Rock Salts and 40 Islefin Dorado. Discovery is random; do not purchase the entire final-stage list before learning that particular recipe.
Fishing: 1–100
Train Dragon Isles Fishing with Toklo in Valdrakken. Fish in Dragon Isles waters until the expansion’s bar reaches 100.
Freshwater supports Temporal Dragonhead and Thousandbite Piranha; coastal water supplies Cerulean Spinefish and Aileron Seamoth. Scalebelly Mackerel and rare Islefin Dorado can appear more widely. Dull Spined Clams provide Ribbed Mollusk Meat for Cooking.
Iskaara Tuskarr progress adds fishing opportunities: highland pools at Renown 6, ice fishing at 10 and lava fishing at 15, with their related unlocks. These are optional for reaching 100. Targeted skinning-crafted lures last 30 minutes. Use them where their fish can appear and compare their cost against the extra targeted catches you expect.
Before repeating on another character
Check which recipes and currencies that character actually owns, then price the remaining inputs. A cheap reagent route can be slower overall if its recipe requires a reputation grind or a rotating quest. Keep intermediate products until the next stage is finished.
Sparks and personal orders for the final crafting stages
Spark of Ingenuity is a bound Dragonflight reagent. Its quest route starts after the Dragonflight campaign and world-quest unlock: take Learning Ingenuity from Therazal, then follow Greyzik Cobblefinger and the Engine of Innovation challenges. Characters eligible for the account skip can speak to Greyzik and the Maiden of Inspiration for the initial five Sparks. Spark quest reference.
Five quest Sparks are an initial allotment, not a universal lifetime cap: Blizzard also described rare-drop acquisition after the first five. For a predictable leveling plan, count the Sparks already available to your characters and customers. Blizzard’s profession overview.
- On the character supplying the Spark, visit Clerk Silverpaw in Valdrakken and find the exact item in the crafting-order interface.
- Select Personal Order, enter the crafter’s character name and supply the bound Spark and agreed materials. Check the fee and material contributions before submitting.
- On the crafter, stand at the correct profession crafting station, open Crafting Orders → Personal, and inspect the order. Confirm that the recipe still awards skill and that you can meet its quality requirement.
- Complete it, then check the base skill increase before arranging more orders. Stop when the bar reaches 100.
Knowledge unlocks belong to the crafter; an order does not teach an unknown recipe. Materials supplied by customers are still real costs, and the resulting item returns to the customer. Avoid promising a highest-quality craft merely because the recipe awards leveling points.
