WoW Classic · Original materials — choose your realm’s terrain
Updated 21 October 2026
Farming areas
- Dustwallow Marsh
- Searing Gorge
- Stranglethorn Vale
How to farm Thick Leather
Kill and fully loot suitable beasts, then skin their corpses. Carry a Skinning Knife.
Classic Era, TBC and Wrath use the original Azeroth terrain. Cataclysm and Mists use the reworked world, so use a route for your realm’s terrain.
See Skinning leveling for progression and related materials.

Targets and farming method
Skin the dragonkin around Stonemaul Ruins and Den of Flame in Dustwallow Marsh (levels 40–44). Ravasaurs in Un’Goro Crater (48–51) and Incendosaurs inside Searing Gorge’s cave (47–49) are alternatives.
