Farming Light Hide — WoW Classic

WoW Classic · Original WoW / Classic Era
Updated 21 October 2026

How to farm Light Hide

Kill and fully loot suitable beasts, then skin their corpses. Carry a Skinning Knife.

Classic Era, TBC and Wrath use the original Azeroth terrain. Cataclysm and Mists use the reworked world, so use a route for your realm’s terrain.

See Skinning leveling for progression and related materials.

Choose the matching skinning farm

Follow the Light Leather farming guide. Hides are occasional skinning results rather than guaranteed drops. For scraps, choose low-level beasts; Leatherworking converts three Light Leather Scraps into one Light Leather.

Work the countryside around Camp Taurajo, targeting the level 20–22 beasts. Alliance players should keep clear of the Horde camp guards. Outlines mark approximate farm areas. Move between suitable creatures inside the area, loot them fully and then skin. These are original-world locations, not Cataclysm’s redesigned zones.
