How to farm Greater Astral Essence
Disenchant original-world uncommon weapons requiring approximately levels 21–25. Armor can also yield essences but more often yields Soul Dust. Check the item’s actual disenchant result where available; required level is a practical guide and unusual items can be exceptions.
Classic Era, TBC and Wrath use the original Azeroth terrain. Cataclysm and Mists use the reworked world, so use a route for your realm’s terrain.
See Enchanting leveling for progression and related materials.

For original WoW, Outland and Northrend, the ranges above refer to the equipment’s required character level. Cataclysm’s 272+ ranges refer to item level. These are different numbers: read the item tooltip and match its expansion before buying a batch to disenchant.
