Farming Fel Iron Ore — Retail

Retail · The Burning Crusade materials
Updated 21 October 2026

This is the Retail guide for Fel Iron Ore. It covers an older expansion’s crafting material, not Midnight’s new reagents.

Train Outland Mining for this material. Retail uses a separate 1–75 Outland skill bar; the old combined 1–600 progression does not apply. Character levels depend on zone scaling and timeline selection, so the map and quest requirements in your current game determine access.

Where to farm Fel Iron Ore

  • Hellfire Peninsula
  • Terokkar Forest
  • Zangarmarsh

Enable Find Minerals and follow the zone circuit. Gather other deposits along the way rather than waiting beside a single spawn; competing miners and respawn timing change how much you collect.

Circle the central and southern rocky ground. Detour to tracked deposits, avoiding the settlements and Hellfire Citadel. Classic requires Mining 300; Retail uses Outland Mining. Eternium is a bonus yield, not a separate node. Markers identify approximate areas. Lines are suggested searches; they are not fixed spawn locations or a measured yield guarantee.
