This is the Retail guide for Thick Leather. It covers an older expansion’s crafting material, not Midnight’s new reagents.

Train Classic Skinning for this material. Retail uses a separate 1–300 Classic skill bar; the old combined 1–600 progression does not apply. Character levels depend on zone scaling and timeline selection, so the map and quest requirements in your current game determine access.

Where to farm Thick Leather

  • Badlands

Kill and fully loot the skinnable beasts in the farming area, then skin each corpse. Move between packs so that earlier groups can respawn. Learn the matching expansion’s Skinning skill for better gathering results.

Enter the original Temple of Atal’Hakkar dungeon from the lake temple. Kill, fully loot and skin eligible beasts and dragonkin inside. Clear manageable sections so corpses do not disappear before you skin them. The marker shows dungeon access, not an interior route. Markers identify approximate areas. Lines are suggested searches; they are not fixed spawn locations or a measured yield guarantee.
