Prismatic Scales are the new secondary leather type collected in Mists of Pandaria. You may remember Blackened Dragonscale from Cataclysm, this leather trade good is very different. It will be used in combination with Sha Leather and Magnificent Hides by Leatherworkers to craft the newest high end gear.
You can expect to farm Prismatic Scales in the new Pandaria continent. They will be skinned off of deceased beasts from level 85 to 90, you’ll need at least 525 to skin a level 85 beast so this is the bare minimum level you’ll need to find Prismatic Scales.
There isn’t much information available about the new trade goods in Mists of Pandaria, but more is coming soon…

ive had good luck at the grassy cline because of all the turtles and rhinos. they all drop scale and they respawned almost instantly
