WoW Herbalism Guide (Leveling 1-525)

Leveling Herbalism is similar to Leveling Mining, you can make a lot of gold doing it but it will require a lot of time. You won’t have to buy any materials on the auction house, just gather Herbs from all over Azeroth. The first thing you will want to do is visit your Herbalism trainer. You can find one in every major city, just find a guard who you can ask where they are at and he will mark the Herbalism trainer and supplies on your map. All you need to do is learn the first level of Herbalism, there are no special items you need to buy from the trainer.

How to level Herbalism fast?

Now that you’ve got herbalism make sure that you enable ‘Track Herbs’ with your minimap tracking tool. This will mark herbs as a little yellow dot on your minimap and make them much easier to see. You may also want to enable ‘click to move’ which can be found in your Interface->Mouse options. This will allow you to click an herb from far away (while mounted) and you character will run to the herb, stop, dismount and gather the herb. you should also enable auto-loot in your Interface as well so that you don’t have to take the herb out of the loot screen after you gather the herb. Finally, enchant a cheap set of gloves for +5 Herbalism (Enchant Gloves – Gatherer). You can do this yourself if you are an enchanter or you can look for Scroll of Enchant Gloves – Gatherer on the auction house. These four tricks will help a lot.

What is the fastest way to level Herbalism?

Below I will show you the fastest and most profitable way to level herbalism to 525. It’s broken into several sections based on level. If you already started leveling herbalism you can skip ahead with these links:

Herbalism Level 1-70

To reach level 70 all you have to do is run around the zone outside of any of the major cities. This includes Undercity, Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Stormwind, Ironforge, Silvermoon, etc. Darkshore and Durotar are the best places to go because they are the best places to Farm Peacebloom and Silverleaf, which give you the most gold and levels.

Herbalism Level 70-150

Once you are level 70, you can learn Journeyman Herbalism from the trainer in whatever major city is closets. From level 70-150 the best place to go is Hillsbrad Foothills, even if you are Alliance because it is the best place to Farm Mageroyal and Briarthorn. Once you reach about level 125, you can move into the Ruins of Alterac and Farm Bruiseweed until level 150.

Herbalism 150-225

Once you reach level 125 you need to learn Expert Herbalism at the Herbalism trainer. Make sure you do, or you won’t be able to go past 150. For levels 150-225, head straight to Western Plaguelands. Here you can start Farming Liferoot by circling the lake around Scholomance. This will get you to level 160 fast which will let you head to the northwest and start farming Fadeleaf and Khadgar’s Whisker.

Herbalism 225-275

At level 225 you will need to learn Artisan Herbalism before you can continue. After you have, head back to the Plaguelands but this time to the Eastern Plaguelands where you can start farming Khadgar’s Whisker and Sungrass. You might notice things going really slow as you approach 275 and think that you should leave early, it’s really not worth it though.

Alternative Route: If you are level 225 and have the +5 enchant mentioned in the introduction, you will be able to start gathering Sungrass (requirees level 230) right away. If this is the case you can head to Thousand Needles instead of Eastern Plaguelands, make sure you have a flying mount though otherwise Thousand Needles isn’t very fun. This is completely optional and is in no way better than the other method. Either way, stick to Farming Sungrass until you are level 275.

Herbalism 275-325

Once you’re level 275 I recommend you train Master Herbalism so that you can continue leveling past 300 and then head to Blasted Lands through the portal in either Orgrimmar or Stormwind. In The Blasted Lands you will be able to farm Gromsblood, Dreamfoil and Mountain Silversage until level 325. You could leave as soon as level 300 but there’s no point because your next destination is the Outlands and it’s right through the portal in the middle of the zone.

Tip: Have you ever wondered how players have so many level 85s or how they can level an 85 so quickly? I use and strongy recommend Zygor's in-game leveling addon which will enable you to level in 5 days of played time. You can find a free version of it here.

  1. Hey guys I have found app for iPad that can help you to farm while you’re playing. Also I use this app to find resources and looking for it before connect to my account, obviously when I’m offline, of this way I can plan where to go and what I’ll farm because the app contains the zone resources info, skills, etc.

The app It’s call WarMaps and you can find it in App Store searching it with this name or go this link directly to App Store:
