Item Level: 20
Skill Requirement: Mining Level 50
Recommended Level: 20+
Farming Tin Ore, which can be smelted into Tin Bars, is one of the less profitable ores/bars to sell. You can usually sell a stack for at least 2 gold and often for as much as 5-10 gold, which might be a lot of gold if you’re only level 20. Copper Ore is usually worth a little more and is easier to farm. If you’re already in one of the two zones below, then it should be worth it to run these routes a few time collecting Tin.
Tin Ore is prospected by Jewelcrafters to find low level gems and by Miners to create Bronze (1 Tin Bar and 1 Copper Bar makes 2 Bronze Barts). Bronze is used by Blacksmiths, Engineers and Jewelcrafters to level up. If you can match each Tin Bar that you farm with a Copper Bar, you can sell them as Bronze and make a little more gold. Look at the prices of everything to calculate which one will sell for the most.
Update: You can make a lot of gold with Tin, but if you want to step it up and make thousands of gold you should read my personal favorite guide.
Where to Farm Tin
Farming Tin Ore in Hillsbrad Foothills
The Ruins of Alterac in Hillsbrad Foothills is loaded with Tin Veins. This is the best location and route to farm Tin. You can also venture south west of the Ruins of Alterac to find Tin Veins in case the Ruins of Alterac runs dry.
Farming Tin Ore in Northern Stranglethorn
Northern Stranglethorn has a lot of tin, but this isn’t the best route to farm tin. If you’re in the area already, you can run this route to farm some extra Tin. Otherwise, it’s probably not worth traveling here just for Tin.
Tip: Have you ever wondered how players have so many level 85s or how they can level an 85 so quickly? I use and strongy recommend Zygor's in-game leveling addon which will enable you to level in 5 days of played time. You can find a free version of it here.
