Blackened Dragonscale is used by Leatherworkers to make dozens of level 80-85 items. It’s skinned off of specific mobs around Azeroth. It’s worth anywhere from 8 to 30 gold depending on which realm you are playing on and how many other people are farming it. You can make a lot of gold farming this but you can easily flood the market with Dragonscale. If you head to Twilight Highlands for any other reason I recommend farming Blackened Dragonscale for 30-60 minutes and send it to your auction house character.

Farming Blackened Dragonscale in Twilight Highlands

Without a doubt, the best place to farm Blackened Dragonscale is in the Obsidian Forest in Twilight Highlands. There are Obsidian Charscales, Viletongues and Pyrewings in the forest and they have a 1/3 chance of giving you a few Blackened Dragonscale when skinned. They are between level 83 and 85 so your Skinning will need to be almost maxed. They have a 2/3 chance of giving you several Savage Leather and a  small chance of giving you some Volatiles. All together, this is a great place to farm if you have Skinning. If you are also an Herbalist you will find a ton of Cinderbloom which is also valuable on the auction house, make sure you enable ‘Find Herbs’ when farming Blackened Dragonscale as an Herbalist.
