Farming Blackened Dragonscale

Blackened Dragonscale
Item Level: 85
Where to Farm: Twilight Highlands
Skill Requirement: Skinning Level 415
Recommended Level: 83+

Blackened Dragonscale is used by Leatherworkers to make dozens of level 80-85 items. It’s skinned off of specific mobs around Azeroth. It’s worth anywhere from 8 to 30 gold depending on which realm you are playing on and how many other people are farming it. You can make a lot of gold farming this but you can easily flood the market with Dragonscale. If you head to Twilight Highlands for any other reason I recommend farming Blackened Dragonscale for 30-60 minutes and send it to your auction house character.

Update: You can make a lot of gold with Blackened Dragonscale, but if you want to step it up and make thousands of gold you should read my personal favorite guide.

Where to Farm Blackened Dragonscale

Farming Blackened Dragonscale in Twilight Highlands

Without a doubt, the best place to farm Blackened Dragonscale is in the Obsidian Forest in Twilight Highlands. There are Obsidian Charscales, Viletongues and Pyrewings in the forest and they have a 1/3 chance of giving you a few Blackened Dragonscale when skinned. They are between level 83 and 85 so your Skinning will need to be almost maxed. They have a 2/3 chance of giving you several Savage Leather and a  small chance of giving you some Volatiles. All together, this is a great place to farm if you have Skinning. If you are also an Herbalist you will find a ton of Cinderbloom which is also valuable on the auction house, make sure you enable ‘Find Herbs’ when farming Blackened Dragonscale as an Herbalist. Here’s a map:

Tip: Have you ever wondered how players have so many level 85s or how they can level an 85 so quickly? I use and strongy recommend Zygor's in-game leveling addon which will enable you to level in 5 days of played time. You can find a free version of it here.
